We have a guest post today from Paul, founder of TallFingers. They have a great product so be sure to check them out!
TallFingers is an apparel company that specializes in long-fingered gloves. As those of you who are bigger, taller, or whatever else, will know, the “Big & Tall” category of apparel has come a long way in recent years but still falls woefully short of mainstream apparel in sizes, variety, and styles.
Gloves are one area of apparel that have been almost completely ignored by Big & Tall apparel companies. Your choices were to live with ill-fitting gloves that give you “webbed fingers”, or to do without gloves completely.
TallFingers was born on the windswept side of a cold mountain where it’s founder bravely- OK, so that’s a bit dramatic. As a someone who is 6’5″ and wears a size 16 shoe I quite snugly fit the category of “Big & Tall”. I had looked for gloves that fit for most of my life always hoping that next year a company would come out with a Big & Tall line, but that was never the case.
Hiking on that mountain, cold fingers thrust deep into pockets, I thought that I mustn’t be the only one who couldn’t find gloves that fit, and that I might be able to do something about it. When I got back from my hiking trip I started gathering the hand measurements of people I knew with long fingers, as well as contacting glove manufacturers to see if they would work with me.
Today TallFingers sells men and women’s leather dress gloves, and we are planning on expanding into a variety of other glove lines including sports, driving, and work gloves. As it turned out, the easiest way to find gloves that fit someone with long fingers was to build a company that designed and sold them – go figure. The good news is that I’ve already done that, so you don’t have you.
