There are a lot of tall towers around the world with around 58 of them being taller than 820 feet. If you use the metric system, that’s 250 meters. We’re going to count down the 5 tallest towers from that list.
The fifth tallest tower in the world is the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, China. It measures in at 1,535 feet or 468 meters and features 15 observation levels with the highest at 1148 feet and the lowest at 295 feet. Atop the tall tower is a 387-foot antenna that broadcasts TV and radio programs to the surrounding area. This tower was the tallest tower in China from 1994 until 2007 and is made of concrete. Like many tall towers, the Oriental Pearl features a revolving restaurant at 876 feet. The tower even features a small shopping center and a 20-room hotel. If you’re in Shangai at night, you should be able to see the tower light up with various LED sequences. This cool light show made it perfect for the Chinese Live Earth concert on July 7, 2007.
Aside from the height of this tower, it features 11 spheres ranging from a diameter of 46 feet to 164 feet. A tower of this size clearly needs some good support, so three underground columns provide the base.
