Some of your may remember Jack Dahlgren, our first Tall Athlete Brand Ambassador for TallSlim Tees... Since we last featured him, he's had some recent developments and we're excited to share them with you!
Jack doesn't just dawn TST merch and create hilarious reels with us. He also swims professionally and represents Team Triumph, a swim club in Columbia, MO. He swam for the University of Missouri collegiately and before that represented Aquajet's swim club in Eden Prairie, MN.
You might think that's quite the track record already, but Jack has even more on his plate... Check out his life update below!
2023 was a busy year for me both in and out of the pool!
After completing my NCAA career at the University of Missouri, I decided to continue my swimming career professionally. Over the summer I graduated with my masters degree in mechanical engineering and placed sixth in the 200 butterfly at US Nationals which earned me a spot on the US National team.
Later that summer, I attended the World University Games in Chengdu, China. I was chosen as the flag bearer for the US delegation, so got to carry the American flag in front of a crowd of 40,000!
The whole experience being in an athlete village and competing against other countries was amazing and helped prepare me for the Pan American Games taking place in Santiago, Chile in October. At this competition, I brought home four medals as part of individual and relay events.
With the international success of 2023 in the rear view mirror, my sole focus is now on the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Most recently, I competed at the US Open in December and the first Pro Swim Series stop in January. Both competitions were training meets and I learned valuable insights into what parts of the races I need to get better at.
My start and turns are where I can find the biggest improvements so have been a large focus for me this season. Looking ahead I will compete at the second Pro Swim Series stop in March in Westmont, IL, then I will spend about a month at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
After that training camp, the final Pro Swim Series is in San Antonio, TX in April. My final competition before the Olympic Team Trials will be the Atlanta Classic in May.
